Steve James

Chief Financial Officer

Steve James joined Hamilton in 2013, initially on a project basis, before becoming CFO for the Hamilton group of companies. Steve is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions in a leadership role at a range of both public and private equity backed businesses.

After qualifying Steve joined the Albert Fisher Group, progressing to Finance Director for the European Frozen, Chilled and Seafood division, where he was responsible for the financial management of 13 companies with turnover in excess of £450M.

Steve was subsequently CFO for a private equity food business, following which he took the position of CFO of the VPS Group as part of the private equity backed buy out team, where his responsibilities included the acquisition of multiple key businesses to take the group’s turnover form £10m to £100m. During this time Steve raised more than £60m of debt to fund the growth of the group. After a successful exit, Steve went on to found a security business in France providing security to the void property market in Paris, Marseille and Lyon.
